I noticed that you do not have a picture...I just wanted to tell you that I live down the street from the place where this incident occured and ther is a makeshift Memorial standing as of last night...though I am not sure it's still there...
It has been over a year since we lost Khatari. As his mother, I have never been contacted by the police (except for them to try to lay claim to the money in his pocket - which he received as a bonus from his job- to pay for the coronor's fees.
It's amazing Chauncey's murder was solved in something like 72 hours.
We'll miss you forever KG! You were not just one of Berkeley's Finest, you were a great brother, wonderful and loyal friend, a hard working man and loved by so many! Rise in Paradise Khatari!

A beautiful memorial...

We had a table with pictures and tributes, but the surviving brother asked us to remove it because the family was worried about retaliation.
ReplyDeleteKhatari was a great young man, a leader and a lover of his people and community. He is the future and will be truly missed.
Khatari was killed by a high powered automatic shot gun. How do these guns get into our community. Tell me?
